Body-Shapers has announced that it has now increased its range of Hypoxi vacu-therapy machines. The company, based in Welwyn, Hertfordshire can now offer targeted inch-loss which concentrates on problem areas such as thighs, buttocks and stomach, as well as providing Dermologie treatment, which can reduce or even eradicate cellulite.

Hypoxi-based treatments stimulate blood flow in fat prone areas of the body. The thighs, buttocks and waist are parts of the body that often accumulate fat because they have poor circulation. Hypoxi treatment improves the circulation in these areas by combining gentle exercise with alternating air pressure. On each machine, a vacuum is created around the targeted area, which causes blood to be drawn to the surface of the skin through the stubborn fat. When the vacuum is released and a positive pressure is applied, the blood is forced to return to the main veins enriched with fatty acids to be broken down for energy elsewhere in the body. Therefore, there is an increased supply of blood, nutrition and oxygen to the specific areas that are being worked upon, resulting in higher metabolism and faster targeted fat breakdown. This system also transports toxins away from the area, which will help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

There are three types of treatment available - Hypoxi, Vacunaut and Dermologie. Vacunaut therapy focuses the treatment on the waist and lower torso, with a 40 minute brisk walk on a treadmill. Dermologie uses a combination of natural cupping and vacu-therapy to provide smooth, youthful looking skin by drawing fresh, oxygenated blood to the surface. This 20 minute session is performed lying down and can reduce the appearance of stretch marks and varicose veins.
